I've cut my teeth on stories ever since I sat around campfires at night as a boy living in the hills of south central Pennsylvania. We'd share spooky stories, mostly. As kids do. I believed I lived in a village of Hobbits with a monster haunting our woods. With my over-active imagination, I was destined to become a story-teller. A filmmaker. And I did.
My journeys have led me around the world, engaging in various art forms, but I always come back to filmmaking. And STORY. ​​

I've honed my skills by writing commercials, shorts, screenplays, and pilots, as well as reading and analyzing screenplays, and working as a production and screenwriting teacher and instructor. And getting scripts produced and winning some awards of recognition along the way, to boot.

MY MISSION
​
My journey as an Artist/Filmmaker has been circuitous, weaving through every art from and creative endeavor. Hence, I understand much of the complexities of the Artist persona and the challenges of keeping ones self motivated to write behind closed doors, into the wee hours of the night, for days and weeks and months and years, when no one is watching, and it seems like no one will ever see your work on the silver screen.

My heart is bent towards helping Artists overcome their writing challenges and to strengthen their weak areas as they pursue their dreams to share their gift of STORY with the world.
MY WRITING METHOD

Writing a screenplay can be both an isolating and euphoric experience, Every writer needs to stay grounded by discussing their concepts, ideas, writings, and questions with other writers who they trust.
​
Like most screenwriters, I've followed the latest screenwriting gurus for decades, and I finally came to a point where I wanted simplicity. So instead of making things more complicated, I now dig deep to begin each screenplay process by focusing on answering NINE ESSENTIAL STORY CORE QUESTIONS before I ever commit to writing one word of my script. The answers to these NINE ESSENTIAL STORY CORE QUESTIONS is what my scriptwriting will be based on. It's the base blueprint, the power line that everything hangs from.
