THE JOURNEY
THUS FAR
I cut my teeth on stories when I was a boy living in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, in south central Pennsylvania. We'd share spooky stories, my older sisters, cousins, and me, as kids do, while roasting marshmallows, making s'mores, huddling in the glow and safety of our woodland campfire. Mystery, intrigue, and suspense oozed from the darkness around us: strange hissings at night, quirky neighbours, unexplained sightings, and our seemingly haunted home. Frankly, I believed I was living in a horror movie, in a village of Hobbits with an Evil force lurking in our woods. With my hyper-sensitive soul bent towards the Arts, and my creative imagination, I was destined to become a story-teller, and I did.

But it wasn't by mistake or fluke.
​
God designs us with specific skills, abilities, and gifts. Mine are for Storytelling. Specifically, Filmmaking. And even more specific: Writing, Directing, and Script Consulting, which are all interconnected.

MY MISSION

My journey as an Artist/Filmmaker has been circuitous, weaving through multiple Art forms and creative endeavors. Hence, I understand much of the complexities of the Writer's makeup, the challenges of keeping oneself motivated to write behind closed doors, into the silent hours of the night, for days and weeks and months and years, when no one is watching, and when it seems like no one will ever see your work on the "silver screen."

My joy is in helping Writers over- come writer chaos, to hone their STORY CORE for a stronger foundation for their STORY WORLD.
MY WRITING METHOD

Writing a screenplay can be both an isolating and euphoric experience, Every writer needs to stay grounded by discussing their concepts, ideas, writing, and questions with other writers who they trust.
​
Like most screenwriters, I followed the latest screenwriting gurus for years, and I finally came to a point where I wanted simplicity. So before I commit one word to a script, I now begin each screenwriting process by focusing on answering 21 STORY CORE FOUNDATION QUESTIONS. The answers to these QUESTIONS are what my script is based on.

I challenge, encourage, and press you towards the GOALS you set for your story and script.
